Day 1: Harvesting Devil’s Club
1. Prayer to start our day off in a good way.

2. Walk to a creek side to find the Devil’s club

3. You go to a place where lots of Devil’s club lives.

4. When cutting Devil’s club.
- give a prayer of thanks or offering to the plant.
- you don’t cut the mother branch.
- you choose a stem from the main branch.

5. After gathering your Devil’s club.
- you cut the prickle outer layer off.
- you will have a smooth surface after.


6. When you take the prickles off, you save them and pass them along to another friend who makes medicines with them.

Day 2: Crafting — How to start

1. Today you will start cutting into pieces, like beads.
- using a hand saw and a cutting board.
- place Devil’s club onto the cutting board and cut into the selected size.
- using sandpaper to sand down the piece of Devil’s club to smooth out the bead.

2. Drill to make a hole in the center of the Devil’s club to make it into a bead.

3. Then boil your bead pieces to harden the beads.
- in a boiling pot of water, place beads and let sit for a minute for the process of hardening.

4. After your beads are ready you can start building your necklace.
